SCHOOL AGE NEWSLETTER:
SIGNING UP FOR NEXT YEAR:
The March newsletter will contain the forms you will need to re-register for next year. You will be able to use them for a sibling as well. First priority for space in any of our programs goes to any child already in Merriewood. Second priority goes to siblings of a child in a Merriewood family and then spaces are opened to outside families on a first come fist serve basis. The Fees for 2012 school year for K-5 are as follows:
$9.30/hr. base rate for less than 60 hrs./mo
$8.35/hr. rate for over 60 hrs./mo
$7.25/hr. rate for over 120 hrs./mo
$9.75/hr. rate for unscheduled hours
$70 for a full day $45 for 1/2 day (any 5 hours) on vacation days other than summer (weekly rates for summer will be out in March)
YOUR BILL: March and April both are charged full months for tuition. Our fees are based on 180 day of school (days that BVE is open) and then divided into 8 full months and 2 half months (Dec & June) tuition for the school year (180 divided by 20 days per month equals 9 months) See your copy of our financial policy or speak with Kevin or Mim if you have any questions.
VALENTINE'S DAY: Please be careful to not send peanuts in Valentione treats to Merriewood. The children can't eat these items here because of the severe allergies of several of our children.
LOST AND FOUND WILL BE DONATED AT THE END OF FEBRUARY: Please check the cart at our entrance. Clothing with names is always returned to the child's cubby or backpack.
MERRIEWOOD'S (NOW FAMOUS) SUMMER PROGRAM: Come to our info/reg night on March 14, 6:00-7:30pm. We're excited to share with you our plans for the coming summer. Registration forms will be available.

VALENTINE'S DAY; Your child is welcome to bring a valentine for each child's cubby. If enclosing a goodie, please remember we are peanut free and we try to avoid surgary treats.
SUMMER AT MERRIEWOOD:
MUDPIE PROGRAM; for children entering the two day, three day and four day classes, Merriewood nursery school summer program reflects our philosophy of allowing children to choose engaging age-appropriate activites that interest them. We provide a physically and emotionally safe environment that encourages exploration, experimentation, making freinds and having fun. Activities include sand and water play, gardening, science activities, carpentry, T-ball, parachute play and big games on the grassy field. Mudpie children will read stories, dictate their own, engage in dramatic play, cook and create art projects. Ratio is 1:6 Hours are 9am-1pm
READY, SET, GO for children entering kindergarten
The jump into kindergarten is both exciting and frightening for children and parents alike. One of the purposes of Ready, Set, Go is to give inbound kindergarteners an opporturnity to meet new friends, play on the kindergarten playground as well as our own playground and the garden. Together they will do lots of activites such as outside games, art and drama, planting, harvesting and building forts in the garden, building in the Discovery Lab and going on an optional field trips and neighborhood hikes. Sign up by the hour, day or week.
